1988 Conlon (World Wide Sports) 1933 All-Stars Sets

The classic photos of Charles M. Conlon in the Sporting News archive are the basis for this collectors’ issue depicting the 48 players (24 from each league) of the original All-Star Game from 1933. These standard (2 1/2” X 3 1/2”) size cards feature a sepia-tone photo of the players on the front with a small graphic in the upper-right corner designating the league which the player represented in the All-Star game. The backs have 1933 and career stats, along with a brief career summary for each player. Half of the 48 players in this set are immortalized in Cooperstown, players such as Mickey Cochrane, Bill Dickey, Jimmie Foxx, Lou Gehrig, Lefty Grove, Tony Lazzeri, Babe Ruth, and Al Simmons from the American League, and Dizzy Dean, Frankie Frisch, Chick Hafey, Carl Hubbell, Chuck Klein, Freddie Lindstrom, Bill Terry, and Paul Waner from the National League squad. We only have limited supply of these timeless sets.
