World Series Wisconsin - Milwaukee Braves 1957 Commemorative Set
Relive 1957 when the boys from "Bushville," the Milwaukee Braves, upset the dynastic New York Yankees with the World Series Wisconsin 1957 Milwaukee Braves Commemorative Set.
Released in conjunction with a Wisconsin Historical Society exhibit on the 1957 and 1982 series, this 96-card set commemorates the accomplishments of that extraordinary team. In addition to players such as Aaron, Mathews, Spahn, Burdette, Buhl, Logan, Adcock, Covington, Crandall and Schoendienst, the set features cards of coaches, front office executives, announcers and other club officials.
All-Stars, Great Moments (such as the legendary Nippy Jones shoe polish incident), Hall of Famers and full-color images from the museum’s exhibit round out this one-of-a-kind set. Major League Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig, who was a Braves fan in the stands in 1957 and later a minority stockholder in the 1960s who fought valiantly to keep the team from moving to Atlanta, is also included in the set. A total of only 2,500 complete sets were produced.
