All-American Girls Professional Baseball League
All-American Girls Professional Baseball League (AAGPBL) card sets are printed and distributed exclusively by Larry Fritsch Cards! Larry Fritsch Cards has obtained the exclusive rights for the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League card series. Featured in the series are cards of the women who made this league a great success in the 1940s and 1950s. The AAGPBL was conceived, financed and organized by Phillip K. Wrigley, the owner of the Chicago Cubs and a group of colleagues in Chicago in 1943. These women baseball players were feminine pioneers with superb skills who added a totally new dimension to the great American game of baseball. The card fronts contain B&W photos with colored highlights, backs are two-colored. Printed on high quality, glossy stock and packaged in a multi-color Deluxe Collector’s Box. Series #1 contains 234 cards, Series #2 106 cards and Series #3, 81 cards, which includes the latest update series of 9 cards. (The 9-card update can also be purchased separately). Here’s your chance to own a piece of baseball history. This is the league that the hit movie “A League of Their Own” was based on. To help commemorate their 2008 reunion, the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League Players Association is producing a calendar. With the help of Larry Fritsch Cards, this calendar is being done as a fundraising effort. The 12-month 2008 calendar features every card ever produced by Larry Fritsch Cards in the 3 series and update of the AAGPBL card sets. With the card sets numbering over 400 cards this means each month will have over 30 pictures of cards! This full-size 11" X 17" color calendar features 40 pages which includes other AAGPBL photos, articles and advertising. | |||
