Overview
From 1948 to the mid 50s, Bowman was the leading producer of sports cards. Their first foray into the market came with the releases of their 1948 sets. The 1948 Bowman Football set was comprised of 108 cards with a black and white photo of the football star on the front of the card, along with the player's vital info and a short biography on the card backs. This set is widely considered to be the first modern football set. Stars include Johnny Lujack, Sammy Baugh, Bob Waterfield, Bulldog Turner, Sid Luckman, and Buford Ray. These cards make great additions to anyone's collection.
