This set was issued to mark the 50th anniversary of the first All-Star game in 1933. The cards feature sepia player photos on front, with a facsimile autograph and appropriate commemorative labeling. Black-and-white backs feature 1933 stats and an anecdote about the player. The major leaguers’ photos were the work of Charles M. Conlon, while the black players’ pictures were garnered from a variety of sources.
Set consists of the 24 1933 American League All-Stars, the 24 1933 National League All-Stars and 12 Negro League Stars. Players included are Ruth, Gehrig, Paige, Gibson, Foxx, Dickey, Grove, Frisch, Traynor, Hubbell and more.
